Show ‘em your badge

March 6, 2006 | In Getting Started | No Comments

Yahoo! Small Business has recently launched the Ecommerce by Yahoo! program. You can find a link to the details in the Store Manager under Merchant Resources.

The program is designed to give you a way to show your shoppers that your site is hosted by Yahoo!, one of the most trusted names on the Internet. In addition to the Yahoo! name, the badges also show the Yahoo! commitment to secure shopping by use of 128-bit encryption. The use of this secure technology, along with the knowledge that your site is backed by Yahoo!, may help build more trust in your store with shoppers given the fear some shoppers have over privacy and security concerns.

The badge is available in three different styles to suit a range of site designs. In order to add the badge, you must agree to the Terms and Conditions and copy the code provided on the Ecommerce by Yahoo! badge program page. You should be aware that different code snippets are provided for secure and standard pages so depending on where you wish to display the badge, you need to use the secure or standard code; secure code is intended for checkout or secure pages (https) while standard is for all other pages.
